there is a button on the automatic shifter that if pressed makes the hold light come on,the other thing that will make the hold light come on and no matter what you do is the transmission computer. If it needs to be replaced $1000.00 at dealer but $100.oo at junk yard.Make sure you take the one out of car with you to match the computer numbers printed on the top.
Our Kia has an automatic transmission, on the side of the shift lever there is a button. when going uphill you can push this button and it keeps the transmission from shifting out. When this is engaged hold appears on the instrument panel. Hope this helps.
