I just replaced the thermostat on my 94 626. It is located on the back of the engine where the radiator hose from the bottom of the radiator enters the engine, which is opposite from most engines. You probably need to take off the the end of the air hose going from the filter box to the injector manifold. Then just remove the two 10 mm bolts holding the hose to the engine and you will see the thermostat. Good luck

the thermostat on a Mazda 626 is vey difficult to find i replaced it myself and i found out it was right under the air filter box.
On a 1997 Mazda 626 4-cyl, the (electric) fuel pump is located inside the gas tank.
generaly thermostat will be inline with the upper radiator hose, as it goes into the engine block.

The thermostat is located on the front left of the motor facing the radiator(Almost directly below the radiator cap). The lower radiator hose is attached to the thermostat housing.
