Mine simply needed brake fluid to fill it to the line indicated on the brake fliud container.

Just replaced the headlight bulbs in a 98 Grand Cherokee that had the same problem. It had the wrong bulbs in it. It had 9007's in it. Calls for 9004's.

take the negative terminal off and put a test light between the cable and the battery post. if the light comes on and then goes out. there is no short if it comes on and stays on then there is a short.

Two possibilities; the dash switch is set to ON that operates the interior lights, or one or more of the switches that detect a door open has failed.
