1999 Dodge Ram 1500 wV6. driving down the road with 50 lbs oil pressure when suddenly oil pressure drops to zero and engine shuts down Is this sending unit or oil pump failure?

If the engine restarts it is probably not an oil issue. The oil pressure will go to 0 after the engine shuts off. You need to check for loss of fuel or spark when it dies off.
