The drive light blinking is due to an error with the ATU. This can be something simple such as low Transmission Fluid to more serious issues such as the gears not stacking. There should be an error code that can be checked in the atu when this is happening which will tell you more about the problem you are having.
approching maintenance
The primary cause for the drive light to flash on a Honda Accord is a malfunction in the transmission. Error codes from the vehicle's computer can be read using an OBDII reader.
every Honda i have ever owned had on board diagnostics, find the ecu (i think its under the seat on the accord ) theres a window with a red led light, cound the blinks. ( Google 92 accord trouble codes ) if it blinks then pauses then starts blinking again its giving a second code.
If you just want the light to just go away and not come on anymore then google how to turn off the maintance required light on your year accord. The same thing happened to me on my 04 accord and I did what was said online and it has not come back on.
The vehicle probably has a security system installed. Many security systems have a blinking light to deter thieves from stealing something from the vehicle or stealing the vehicle itself..
Computer has detected a problem with the transmission.
bad speed sensor

Honda
alright i have a 1990 Honda prelude si, my s3 light blinks when i drive. I was told that the blinking of the s3 light means that there is something wrong so look under the carpet an look at the red blinking lights for the trouble code. I found the trouble codes an i counted the blinks. the light on the left blinks 9 times and the one on the right blinks one long time then 6 more times.. what does this mean? what do i do next?????
