check the tension of the belt . it should have a 1/2 inch deflection . also check the condition of the belt. maybe it is cracked or may have to much stretch in it. a good belt that i have in my car is a Mighty belt. i have been using this brand for years.
If a 1999 Mazda Protege keeps making clicking noises, you might have a bad alternator or starter. You could also have a bad ignition or solenoid.
depends on where the "squeaky sounds" are coming from. something could be loose, such as a hinge or something. if it screams like a banshee, then its the alternator belt, or the alternator itself. it all just depends on where its coming from
Possibly and it can be the drive belt making a noise. It you hear a whine it is likely the alternator bearings are shot. You can remove the alternator and have it tested at most auto parts stores, after you make sure the belt is good.
chances are if its on the passenger side of the engine then its your alternator...good luck doing it yourself...just did mine and its a major pain in the rear to get the old one out and the new one in due to limited space and all the other components in the way...
Normally this is the bearings going bad.
If your 88 CRX SI alternator belt is making a strange intermittent noise shortly after changing the alternator what's wrong, the belt tension could be off. Adjust the belt slightly.
I had a similar problem, I don't know if your car is manual or automatic, but mine is manual and the problem was the clutch.
Could be you have a bad belt or belt is loose.. Also it might be possible that the bushings are worn out of the alternator
Alternator is not making enough power.
im not sure but in my 2000 Plymouth neon my alternator has been making squeeking noises in the morning when its cold and just recently its been making a clicking noise as the engine is ruvving down or sometime ruvving up, not sure if that has to do with the alternator
How do you replace an alternator on 2008 dodge Avenger? My car is making a whining noise and this may be the problem.
It is probably not coming from inside the motor. What you probably have is a bad alternator bearing, steering pump bearing, etc.
