At $90 an hour shop rate it would take about $1700 labor plus parts. If you were to do it yourself it requires $500 worth of special tools, plus parts, to get it back together. Either way it is a lot of work and money.
Although I am not a certified mechanic....hell or even a mechanic , I would say no unless the timing chain is in the way of the gasket replacement, you should be able to on most motors replace header gaskets without the removal of the timing chain. ( timing chains are usually involved with the cam/rod repair and or replacement and such)

If the timing chain on your Lincoln LS is worn out then it should be replaced. A worn out timing chain can jump a link, or more, and the engine will ultimately not be able to run. Normally the timing chain will last the life of the engine.
