On a 99 Pontiac Grand Am, you can expect to spend up to 500.00 on replacing your rotors, this is because the 99 used different rotors than the rest of the series. To replace rotors on your 99 Grand Am, you can expect to pay around $150. Take it yo your local NTB or brake store to get the work done, You can also take it to the dealership.
yes, if they aren't you will loose braking efficiency
Warped rotors or sticking caliber.
There could be many reasons why the Acura makes a high pitch whining noise. It could be that the brakes or the rotors are going out.
I don't know if you are saying you have the new hubs and rotors and still have pulsation, or if you are asking what causes pulsation. If you have pulsation on slowing this is due to warped rotors, and you need to change the rotors and the brake pads, not the hubs. Not too expensive: 2 rotors and brake pads for my Pontiac is about 55 bucks. DIY of course.
Your brake rotors are warped.
Remove the front tires, from your Pontiac Grand Prix. Remove the brakes and rotors. Unbolt the axle from the suspension. Remove the axle.
Possible its time to change those brake pads out. The whining noise is possibly the metal grinding to your rotor, which would cause your wheel to shake. Consider getting those rotors turned as well.
yes they are out of round not true anymore
No. They tell you this so that you'll use a dealership and get charged out the butt for it.
It could be your rims are bent. Or it could be the rotors are warped
