2001 Saturn and just recently transmission fluid started leaking out was told that there is a hole in the transmission - can you explain what that means?

What his means is that the fluid is leaking out of a hole or crack in some part of the pipework through which the transmission fluid flows. Park it on a flat clean surface and see where the fluid is dripping out onto the ground. The hole will be somewhere above the drip.

depends on where it was leaking from, if it was the side of the tank then no, i would not fill it again, ever. if its was from the pin valve then chances are it just had the pin valve seat a little weird but it is not seated correctly. id have it filled again if that's the case and if it leaks still have a shop take a look at it
