Try spraying some WD-40 on all the door locks and lock mechanicals. It will free all the parts up.
The expedition door lock relay could be stuck causing the grinding noise. Check to insure that the lock relay is working properly.

The problem is that your door locks / latches are sticking. Spray some WD-40 on all the door jams/locks including the rear door hatch. The problem will stop.
