We have a 95 Chevy Lumina that did the same thing, we took the door off, and readjusted the door and had to rehang it, it has closed fine since then, but the motor I think has finally died, so I'm still without a way to open the door except manually, which is a pain when I'm loading and unloading things like girl scout stuff, groceries, people, etc..
Best of luck..
The sliding doors have brass contacts on the front of them. They need cleaned with emery cloth or steel wool occasionally and then lubricated with dielectric grease to prevent them from corroding quickly.
Try cleaning the contacts on the door.
I had the same problem and found it to be the preset bar contacts were not making a good connection. There is a sliding lock on the left of the preset bar which, on mine, was designed to be removed as an theft deterent. I removed the bar, cleaned the contacts, and reinstalled it. No problems since. also you may have to take a sharp object like a big needle and bend the contacts on the removable panel up a little bit. careful, don't break them! i had to do it when contact cleaner just didn't do the job.
If your problem is that the door keeps opening and doesn't want to latch shut, then what I have been doing is carrying a piece of 3M scrubbing pad and use that to scuff up the contacts on the door and the door jam contacts. Then the door functions properly for another month or so. There is a recall on the automatic sliding doors and it involves them not latching.
Clean corrosion off contacts with fine steel woll, sandpaper, etc.
Took it for body work, mechanic left doors open while repaired them. Ran the battery dead. Now drivers side manual sliding door won't open.
It is impossible to have no friction. If there was no friction we would be sliding all over the place, nothing would be balanced.
mine has one on the passenger side Yes, it CAN have power sliders on the drivers side and passengers.
The tracks on a sliding glass door are best cleaned with a brush and mild detergent. You want to let it dry well before closing the door. Cleaning the tracks on a sliding glass door can seem like a dirty job, but it is actually easier than it may seem. To clean and lubricate the track for sliding doors or windows. Spraying WD40 on the tracks after vaccuming will aid in smoothing out the glide on the door. Remove grime with brush or cloth and vacuum again if necessary.
its nothing becauseif you really know about earth then that's your answer
2001 grand voyager passenger drivers side door, pops but nothing else. I have had both doors apart and swapped everything other to check it works and it does. I have had the wiring loom out and checked for broken wires and nothing, You will need a scan tool that is capable of communication with the sliding door computer. You need to know what fault code is setting when the door stops moving.
Sliding glass doors can accumulate gunk and dirt after years of use and not getting the grooves cleaned out good. An option to make the door slide easier is to clean it good with soap and water. Dry it out and then apply a layer of Vaseline to the groove. This will make the door almost like new.
