If the cruise control on your 1990 Lexus ES 250 is not working, it’s possible that a blown fuse could be the cause. Check the vehicle's fuse box for any blown fuses related to the cruise control system. However, if the fuse is intact, the issue could also stem from other components, such as the cruise control switch, throttle cable, or vacuum actuator, which may require further diagnosis or repairs. Always consult the owner's manual for specific fuse locations and ratings.
well i have just recently purchaced one. It donesnt have cruise control
a loose wire will cause that. also lots of other reasons but ford is known for cruise control failures in that year on all models
On a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer, the cruise control system is typically protected by a fuse located in the fuse box. Check the owner's manual for the exact fuse number, but it is often labeled as "Cruise" or similar. If the cruise control is not functioning, inspect this fuse and replace it if it is blown. Additionally, ensure that the other components related to the cruise control system are functioning properly.
check vaccuum lines on cruise control and other things that use vac
Yes, a 1992 Astro Van typically has two vacuum lines associated with its cruise control system. One line connects the vacuum source to the cruise control actuator, while the other may run to the control switch or the brake pedal switch. It's important to check for any leaks or damage in these lines, as they can affect the performance of the cruise control system.
Check fuses. They both could have the same fuse.
Check all fuses (key on--engine off) in fuse box under dash and in the relay/fuse box under the hood. Check the cable from the cruise module to the throttle body. Check plug connector at cruise module. Other than these few checks it's a dealer repair item.
Cruise control may stop working due to various reasons, such as a malfunctioning speed sensor, issues with the brake pedal switch, or a blown fuse. Additionally, if the vehicle's onboard computer detects any problems with the engine or transmission, it may disable cruise control as a safety precaution. Other factors, like low brake fluid or a malfunctioning throttle actuator, can also contribute to the system's failure. Regular maintenance and diagnostics can help identify and resolve these issues.
I had the similar problem with my Jeep 1999 grand Cherokee cruise control not working the gates for the interior worked fine just no cruise control, looking at the other respondence I found that the vacuum hose off the control unit was bent going to a auto parts store and bought a slight bit longer hose and is now working fine I was ready to replace the whole unit. the other thing is the upper radiator hose looks to be 1½" on both ends it is not the NAPA hose calls for #9117 and states it is same on both ends which is 1½" the correct one is from pep-boys Dayco 1-15/32" slight bit smaller and works much better and cheaper.
one end is going to be of course besind the spedo gauge in your cluster and the other end will be ithe in you transaxle orif you have cruise control it will be at the cruise control transducer.
