Go to an auto parts store that will read your OBD-II code. Many will do it for free. (The check engine light indicates there is a problem that the car has detected) If you intend on working on your own car I suggest buying a scanner. (theycan be had for as little as $60)
The code, and what it means, will tell you what is wrong with your car. A maintenance manual (such as Hayne's) will give instructions on how to troubleshoot and repair the problem.

If feels like your car isn't getting gas to the engine, perhaps the fuel injectors are clogged. You may also need to change the fuel filter.

It could be a few things...low on oil..pcv valve clogged. Take it to Autozone or Oreillys and have them run a scan on your engine...they do it for free and it takes less than 5 minutes.
