It could be a few things...low on oil..pcv valve clogged.

Take it to Autozone or Oreillys and have them run a scan on your engine...they do it for free and it takes less than 5 minutes.

Why does your 1999 or 2000 Chrysler Cirrus oil light flicker or blink when stopping then go off again when you accelerate?

Answer #1: Either the oil pressure sensor is faulty or the oil pressure is down. Put in a gauge to find out what your oil pressure really is. You'll have to find out what it SHOULD be, but it sounds like the oil pressure is normal when the oil is cold. Warm oil becomes thinner and escapes around the rod and main bearings. If you are using a low viscosity oil (bottom number 10 as in 10 W 30) in a high mileage vehicle, you might just need to change the oil viscosity to solve your problem. Try something with 20 or 30 in the bottom number. Going up one number can often solve the problem. From your description I seriously doubt that you have a problem with the oil pump. Answer#2: My wife's 2000 Chrysler Cirrus had this exact same problem. The oil light would flicker and sometimes stay on when she would come to a stop light, then turn off when she accelerated. She took it in and they determined it was the oil pressure switch. They replaced it and the problem seems to have disappeared. The part was $27 and labor was $90 to replace the switch. I'd definitely recommend trying this first.
