Sounds like a leaky fuel injector to me. I had the same problem with mine. Mine acted like it was flooded (which it was) when it was hot. I pulled the fuel rails, unplugged them from electrical, and pressurized the system. I found two injectors leaking, one on each side. I would have liked to replace all of the injectors, but at $50 each I could only afford to replace the two that were leaking.
It starts perfect now. I hope this helps.
2003 dodge neon that will start but will not stay running and dies after it starts?
The engine size in a 96 Dodge Stratus is a 2.4 liter could have a 2.0L. It should say it right on the engine.
The key is not supposed to stay in the 'On' position when starting a 1994 Z24. When a person starts a vehicle, the key is turned to the far right. When the engine starts the key automatically goes one section to the left. If the key is turning too far and making the engine shut off, then the ignition has to be changed.
the transaxle is located to the right, slightly below and attached to the engine on a dodge neon
I had exactly the same problem with my 1996 Dodge Intrepid. The fuel pressure regulator was leaking which caused flooding of the engine if the engine were off for the right length of time. Too short and the engine did not have time to flood. Too long and the fuel evaporates and engine is no longer flooded. Just right and the engine is flooded and hard to start.
Dodge did not produce the Durango until 1998. It is located on the bell housing on the right side of the engine where the transmission mounts to the engine
under the hood on the right side, right on top
Right on top of the engine.
To the right of the battery, when looking at engine.
It's on the back of the engine, right side, right where the engine and transmission bolt together.
The PCM is mounted right in the center above the engine.
