When it stops working do you mean that it quits cooling or the a/c compressor goes bad ????
If it quits cooling and the a/c compressor is good then you either have a leak in the system or the system has a restriction.
If the a/c compressor is bad then you have a lot of trash in the system from the first one that was replaced..............
