I was looking at ford parts . com ( no spaces ) and there seems to be quite a list of different part numbers for the alternator . As far as I know the 4.0 liter OHV engine in a 1996 Ford Explorer XLT uses a 95 amp alternator but it shows quite a few different part numbers
