try cleaning the air filter and the fuel injection system
I assume you're getting a check engine light. Hook up an OB2 code reader, Google the code with the 2005 Hyundai Sonata, and get an explanation of the code. In general, 3 things make your vehicle go down the road: FUEL, COMPRESSION, & SPARK. Everything falls under 1 of these 3. It sound like you could have a bad fuel injector or a bad spark plug or faulty coil in which a code reader will detect right away. If you live near an auto zone most will check it for you for free and research the code for you. A good OB2 code reader is around $40.00, and there are better ones out there for a little more than that. Hope this helps, Joe
