probably because you got your amp bridged and its not a stable ohm load

Pioneers are decent...but the best subs are rockfordfostage and kicker. Alpine is ok too
l5's are louder, alpine type r's are clearer. It all depends on what you want..... Loud, or clear.
yes,kicker is a good brnad and can have so much base that if you have it in a car and you have it hooked up good then you might wanna buy some plexi glass.

Personally, I have had both subs in pairs with sealed boxes. At first I thought the kickers were amazing but then i bought the type e's with the alpine mrp-m500. For the price the type e's are way more worth and and sound better with multiple music types.
