Possibly a Clogged transmission filter. Change the fluid and filter.
tranny could be gone.or you may need tranny fluid or you have too much tranny fluid.
you have to get a tranny from a two wheel drive and drive shaft. remove everything to do with four wheel drive and hook up the new tranny crossmembere and drive shaft then it will work. if you want to do the front end good luck
is there a tranny dipstick on a 2003 ford explorer 2 wheel drive or an idiot light?
The tranny slipping
No there are Cv joints which connect directly from the tranny to the front wheels and act as drive shafts. Most rear wheel drives will have drive shafts as to connect from front to back. The reason CV's must be used in front wheel drive is because of the wheels being used for turning. If it was a drive shaft to the wheels, they would not be able to move.
You can't unless you remove the front pump assembly and drive it out from behind but, I still wouldn't reuse the seal, just replace it with a new seal.
no its not Yes is is front wheel drive with an autostick tranny
does it shift into reverse and wont drive? if so its your tranny it needs to be replaced
It is your tranny mount, either the bolts are rusted and broke or they are just loose. or it could also be that your drive shaft became bent but that is very rare unless you drove over something hard enough to bend it. it could also be that if it only bangs when you shift it into gear that you need tranny fluid or your bands in the tranny could be going.
YES THE TRANNY WILL WORK'.i JUST PUT A FOUR WHEEEL DRIVE TRANNY AND TRANSFER CASE INTO MUY TO WHEEL DRIVE CHEROKEE THE TRANNY I PUT IN WAS OUT OF A 87 AND THE JEEP I PUT IT INTO IS A 96 ALLTHE PLUGS WORKED PERFECT..HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YOU...
There is no drive shaft because it is front wheel drive. The axles connect directly to tranny.
two wheel drives have two turning wheels. Four wheel drives have four turning wheels, meaning that it has twice the turning power of a two wheel drive.
