Are you asking where it is or what it looks like. Please clarify. where it is Okee dokee. I have a 94 Explorer and the control module is in the rear of the car, when you open the hatch look for a removable panel on the left side. When you open up that panel you will see the washer bottle if you have a rear washer wiper and the 4wd control module. I'm thinking maybe they're all pretty much the same, but when in doubt just call up your local Ford dealer and ask.
It is for the 4WD control knob. In models without 4WD it is just an extra place to put something.
In the center stack of the dash , to the left of the radio ( rotary selector knob for the control trac 4x4 system )
Owner's manual.
The owner's manual shows fuse # 12 - as a 5 amp fuse - for the fog lamp switch and 4X4 module
well,, you can start by turning the switch on your dash that says '4wd'
it's located behind the headlight switch and push button 4wd control. the plastic piece just pops out to reveal the transfer case control module. good luck
I got a 1997 explorer sport with control trac 4wd. its suppose to but it doesnt work.
There wasnt a 5.0L explorer in 1992
Does the dash light come on? If not, It is probably a control module located on the passenger side under the dash behind the kick panel (about where a passengers right foot would be.) The only place I could locate 1 was at the Ford Dealer and it was several Hundred $$. Good Luck.
i have same problem with 2000 foed explorer i got my fix changeing my 4x4 control module behind the center dash hope that helps good luck
