If you have just installed the KN air filter this is due to a lean condition because of the extra air flow. Adjust your fuel screw out to approx 3 turns from seated and you may have to adjust your clip position on your jet needle. If your needle is not adjustable then you will need some .4mm needle shims available from Yamaha ( they used to use them on older v-max / viper etc. carbs from sleds) You will want to raise the needle to richen. This should get rid of the idle and bog condition. After this you will have to due some wide open runs and check plug color so you can get feel for your AF ratio on the main circuit. You will want to do the opposite if the machine was running fine and you have just removed the filter ( problem due to a rich condition because stock filter is more restricted- less air) Hope this helps - Andrew
my raptor idles but when i touch the gas it backfires abd cuts out any ideas?
it is the carb. my uncles did the same thing. you need to have them cleaned and have them put in sync
Motor mounts are bad
Mine did this and I found out it was the timing belt that needed to be changed.
I changed my tps sensor on my 2001 Dakota and it solved this problem.
it could be the tps sensor, map sensor, idle air control vavle, in jection problem, or something simple as a fuel fiter dirty, check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure guage that you can pick up at any auto parts store
The cabin air filter can not cause a rough idle. It only filters the air for the ac/heater.
Check fuel filter and fuel pump.
