well at first it was said that he didnt want to but everyone else decided that he was the best writer out of them all so he then decided that he would write the declaration of idependenceIt was written because not many people had freedom so Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence for making freedom and independence.Jefferson wished to persuade other colonists to join him in overthrowing British rule, and he succeeded. He wanted the colonists to be aware of the kings tyranny and wanted the king to see that America was to be recognized as a free and independent country.
No colony accepted the Declaration they weren't asked to agree or vote on it. The Declaration was written and then published for the colonies to see and read. The publication took place in July of 1776, but Congress didn't vote on it until October 1776.
well, break Declaration of Independence up: the root of Declaration is Declare-to say or state. Independent-meaning to not rely upon anyone else. So when our nations founders wrote the Declaration of Independence, they were pretty much saying: "We are our own nation now, we don't need you anymore. we are Independent. (We don't depend on you anymore) we can handle ourselves.**before it was written, America relied upon Britain for everything, and was ultimately controlled by Britain. So we "broke up" with them, and Declared our Independence/"Stated we are on our own"
he was in the continental congress and helped write the declaration of independence.
john Hancock
I obviously can't put his signature in this answer, but his signature is signifigant because his signature is the biggest on the Declaration of Independence. He also made his signature look cool instead of just writing it normal, like how We the people looks on the Constitution.
Independence from whom? France had not been somebody else's colony since the Romans left. An independent country does not need a declaration of independence.

Benjamin Franklin, some other people and people who made the Declaration of independence

The Declaration of Independence declared the 13 colonies to be free and independent from the people of England. I'm not positive but that is the closest I've come to answering this difficult but clever question. I actually used threee super-computers to get this answer. None of them pulled it up. But then I called a phsychic and he was able to get it right. A few weeks later he called me up and said that he wasn't exactly sure. So my first posted answer was the answer he gave me. I had to delete that answer and ut this one on. So this is a best guess. :-) --Totally awesome person you don't know

yes he did (with help from others)... he considered doing so his greatest accomplishment. he wanted to be remembered for writing the declaration of independence more than anything else.
Jefferson used the philosophy of John Locke for the Declaration. The idea that man had rights was revolutionary thinking in a time where kings ruled and everyone else was considered below them.
