When you change rotor or main ball joint, or when they get worn.
how do you change a ball joint on a td5 discovery
Assuming this is a front wheel drive vehicle, you probably have a worn CV joint in the passenger side halfshaft. Replace the halfshaft with a rebuilt one.
It is likely the CV (Constant Velocity) joint. If left unattended, the joint will eventually break completely and the car won't go anywhere.
It could be your wheel bearing or your CV joint.
Might be a bad cv joint
Axle shaft u joint or the steering knuckle.
Mines was doing the same thing and the solution was to replace the front U-joint. Its fine now.
How do u remove front axle u joints
it as simple as pulling back the cv boot and hammering the joint off. there is a retaining ring on the inside of the joint. when you put it back together just make sure the ring is in good shape.
you have to remove the inner fender for access. Put car on jack stands, remove front passenger tire, remove plastic inner shield to get to plugs. You will need couple extensions and a "wobble" or universal joint extension to get them
best of taking it to a mechanic
