93 Pontiac drum brakes?
What about 1993 Pontiac drum brakes, please be specific.
How do you get the rear brake pads to fit between the shoe and rotor of a 93 Chevy Lumina with disk brakes Doesn't seem to be enough room and it's driving me insane-piston is as far in as it will go?
I don't mean to be glib or sarcastic, but when I bought my new rear brakes at a chain auto-parts store, for a few dollars I got a Rear Drum Brake Kit made specifically for my '93 Cherokee Country. With the kit are picture directions that can explain better than just seeing it in text. You will also want a brake spring remover (nominal cost, ask the clerk) and a needle-nose pliers. Good luck!
How can I tell whats wrong with my 93 Pontiac Grand Prix LE new brakes drums pads rotors doesn't stop like it should?
Older MG drum brakes? Yeah... if the shoes appear to be damp, check for a leaking wheel cylinder. If so, replace the cylinders AND the shoes. Clean the drums thoroughly before putting them back on. Otherwise: -Return springs have gotten weak with age. Replace them with new springs. -Excessive brake drum diameter (from wear or machining.) Measure the drums and replace as needed. -Shoe webbing improperly machined. Return the shoes to the store as defective…
