It could be several things, but first I'd change the fuel filter, possibly drain the tank if there is alot contaminants in it.

could be fuel filter
Hi, There can be many things that could be happening. Your spark plugs could be loose or bad, your distributor and rotor could be bad, your fuel filter could be clogged, your air filter could be clogged, these are just some starting p[oints. Good luck. Steve H.
Could be a plugged fuel filter.
According to my mechanic, it has something to do with the cam shaft position sensor overheating.
Could possibly be the electric fuel pump is not producing enough pressure. Or the fuel filter is clogged from not changing it, or a bad load of gas clogged it. Perform fuel pressure test if filter is OK
could be the computer causing the pump not to run
It's probably an electrical problem. It could be the radiator or the alternator. Check the filter caps.
I just had mine fixed and it was the electrical connection to the fan switch. It COULD be something as simple as a fuel filter.
Could be a plugged up fuel filter.
One reason that a 2000 GMC Jimmy engine stalls while driving could be your filter needing to be changed. The problem could also be a bad sensor.
it could be a bad fuel filter and fuel pump
Check electrical connections on transmission for corrosion and/or moisture
