i had the same problem and i changed the fuel sock in the gas tank and now it runs great
The fuel is not getting from the tank to the carburetor.
Fuel pump problem
no fuel getting to engine
Maybe it's not getting gas. Check it by starting it with starting fluid. If it will run with starting fluid, check the fuel pressure at the fuel line test port. You'll need a fuel gauge for that.
It doesn't have a carburetor, it's fuel injected. Could be a faulty fuel pump. See if it will run briefly with a squirt of starting fluid to confirm it's not getting fuel.
sounds like its not getting fuel
make sure you are getting spark to your spark plugs. check and see if plugs are wet or fouled. buy a can of starting fluid and spray some into breather but not too much short spurts only make sure you have gas in car if gas is too low in tank it may have gone bad starting fluid should help to identify the problem
A partially blocked catalytic converter might cause the engine to run poor, but it wouldn't keep it from starting. Always go back to the basics. Fuel, ignition and compression. Starting fluid is a good tool to have around when an engine won't start. If the engine runs when starting fluid is being sprayed into the air intake then dies when you stop spraying, you have a fuel delivery problem. If the engine WON'T start when you are spraying starting fluid, it's probably ignition or something internal.
Is it getting fuel? Disconnect the pressurized fuel line (the lines next to the firewall, and specifically, the line you havve to use a wrench on) going to the fuel injectino manifold and have someone turn the engine over to make sure it is getting fuel. No fuel, it won't start. Don't assume it is an electrical/ignition problem. In fact, if you can shoot a small amount of starting fluid into the air intake and it fires, then you can probably rule out electrical/ignition problems.
It always gets back to fuel, ignition and compression. If you're getting all 3, it will start. If it's not starting, find out which is missing. Start with a little starting fluid while someone attempts to start the engine. If it starts briefly, it's a fuel problem.
I have the same problem. I have spark, fuel presure, dont start. But if i use starting fluid it will star.
The use of starting fluid should not be required, and is not recommended. The use of starting fluid should not be required, and is not recommended.
