Try starting the engine with starting fluid. Remove the air cleaner and have someone start the engine while you spray starting fluid for a couple seconds. But don't run it too long that way.
If the engine will run on starting fluid, and not keep going I'd suspect the fuel pump. There should be a fuel pressure test port right behind the throttle body. Check the fuel pressure. If it's zero you PROBABLY have a dead fuel pump. You'll need to drop the tank to replace it, and it's a bit pricey, but it should solve the problem. Replace the fuel filter while you're at it.

remove gas tank from truck, unscrew sending unit hold-down
Because your out of gas!
It is inside of the gas tank.
It varies from one silverado to the next. Take a can full of gas with you, then let the truck run out of gas and see how far you went after the light came on.
that depends on the mileage on the truck, driver, outside conditions, speed and if it is gas or diesel. is it a 1500, 2500 or 3500?
Yes it will but you will have to change the computer and the wiring harness to make the engine run. You will also have to change the fuel pump that is inside of the gas tank. Alot of work to make that year engine work in the 93 truck.
Need to make sure that you have fire-spark at the plug wire when cranking engine. Then ask your question again I we will answer you, and see if we can help you.
No. A fuel tank will not explode just because it is on fire. However, it will feed the fire and make it worse.
Yes, it's in the tank.
NO. It is all different
