its a hard belt to find if you take it to the auto parts store they just look at you funny the belt number is 820 k6
You may not bypass a smog pump. It is a part of the vehicle's emission's control system and bypassing it is a violation of federal law.
what belt size to a 302 bypass for removal of smog pump and AC
Go to Autozone and get an 88.2-inch 6-rib serpentine belt. This will effectively bypass the smog pump and keep all other accessories operational.
A smaller belt
Unfortunately the Taurus needs the AC Pulley to turn the water pump you CAN get a bypass pully for 30 bux and use the same belt and routing but the shorter no AC belt will not work on that engine
93.5 inches for the bypass
Stock belt size is 102'' with the smog pump pulley. You will need a 94.5'' belt to bypass it. Make sure when you remove the pulley, that you put the three screws back in to keep the holes from rusting.
I'm sure you can do it and there is a belt out there that will fit but you will have to take a piece of rope and route it on the pulleys like the factory diagraphm minus the power steering pulley and then measure the length of the piece of rope and try to find a serpentine belt that size.
you can use a 920mm 6groove belt or a 36 inch 6groove belt maybe even 35
This is just a guess so take it with a grain of salt. I would buy a belt for the s10 without air conditioning and just bypass the air conditioning pump.
you can not use a shorter belt because it will cause the waater pump to run in reverse . ask your local parts store for an a/c puley and bracket assembly [about 40 bucks]
No you can not bypass the ac pulley but you can by a bypass pulley at the part store for about 40$. I just got one for my 2006 ford taurus the ac pump locked up and burned my belt it can take a while to put on but its worth it if you dont mind not having your ac working.
