Need a little more information for an accurate diagnosis. If you can smell rotten eggs smell, your catalytic converter is probably clogged. Otherwise, How long since you changed the fuel filter? If you have more than 100,000 miles, you may need a tune up. Injectors may be clogged. Is the air filter dirty? Most other things will cause the check engine light to come on.
