I looked and looked online for a guide for my door panel removal to no avail, So I did what any shade tree would do and decided to figure it out hehe.
Here's the deal - If you have a "96 Blazer and your inner door handles look nothing like the pictures/vids you can find online ( if it has a vinyl screw/pushpin to hold it in)
Here's what i did - after removing the screw and the lock it was screwed into. I took a small flat screw driver and slowly and carefully pried out the bezel around the door handle ( start middle top and work around)
then from the back side I took same screwdriver and gently pried the inside plate out of the bezel ( this seemed to be the only way to remove the bezel from door handle) It has some tar-like goop that holds it on. and there is the door handle cover removed.
Replacement- After replacing the door panel - replace the outer bezel in door panel then align the lock actuator with the slide on inner plate and snap back into bezel and replace screw/pushpin
Good luck all
I have a 96 blazer and the fuses are located behind a panel just inside the drivers side door on the end of the dash..
The fuse box is located in the driver door joint. There is a small panel held on by a small hand screw. Inside you will find the panel diagram and any spare fuses.
Yes, it should fit perfectly.
If it is the same as the '96 model, then no. There is just enough room to get a little hand in there to replace it.
If you go to the front of you Blazer and look underneath the bumper you will find an access panel for your oil filter
* Disconnect the negative battery cable * At the bottomof the door panel remove the two screws * Pry up at the front edge of the power window switch pod and lift it out then unplug the electrical connector * Remove the inside door handle escutcheon * Remove the screw in the door pull pocket * Pull the door panel away from the door far enough to disconnect the electrical connectors
By removing the sprinkler first!
I know it is on the '96. So, just give your local Ford parts person a call. They will tell you.
The 1996 Ford Contour door panel is held in place with 10 retaining clips. Pry outward on each retaining clip to remove the door panel.
Should have access after removing inner door panel Should have access after removing inner door panel
pull it off.its clips.like the dash.
