a 96 cavilear takes R-134A refridgerant, and It goes in the low side of the refridgerant loop wich is up by the passenger side strut top.
A 1997 Chevy Cavalier uses a standard 50/50 mix of antifreeze coolant and water. This keeps the engine from overheating and from freezing in the winter.
Any high quality green type coolant would be acceptable for Chevrolet Cavalier. It should be mixed 50 percent with distilled water.
