try the starter relay.
Follow the + battery cable should connect to the starter relay (solenoid)
starter is going out, get a new one, or hit it with a hammer while trying to start the car5 would do the trick, still need a new starter though Could be the main wire connecter to the starter needs to be cleaned. Disconnect the battery before doing the following...Disconnect the main wire from the starter. Take a bit of sand paper and clean the round end connecter.
if the battery is good, it is not the regulator.i would check all fuses first, then check starter solenoid and starter
Seized engine? Bad starter solenoid? Bad starter? Bad neutral switch? Loose or corroded battery terminals? Weak battery?
Check the starter and your fuses.
two fuses by the battery they are blown they dont look it but they are had the same problem put new fuse in and ur ready to go good luck
Check ignition relay. Jump the battery directly to the starter and see if the starter is any good.
Loose or corroded battery cable? Bad starter solenoid? Ignition switch?
first check battery, then fuses in fuse box, then fusible link.its connected to your positive battery cable,if its burnt or swollen, then replace, also check your starter and alternator and belts.
Usually when this happens the starter solenoid has failed -- remove the starter and have it checked/rebuilt. Some auto parts stores can run a check for you also.
Then it is a defective ignition switch.
First, make sure your all of your electrical connections and fuses are good. (battery cables are not corroded and cable to starter and ground are good) If they are good, it sounds like you either have a bad ignition switch or starter. You might try having someone turn the ignition switch to start position while using a multi-tester to see if you are getting power to the starter. If you are getting power to the starter, and it won't engage, chances are you need a new starter. If you do not have power to the starter, you might have a bad ignition switch. In certain circumstances you might try tapping on the starter with a hammer while someone is turning the ignition switch to see if it will engage. If it will, I would look to a bad starter. I have found that a majority of the time, a starter is the problem, not the ignition switch. Hope this helps.
