I have a Toyota Tundra with the same engine. That happened to me. (I turned off the key and it kept on cranking, had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop) Turned out to be the starter solonoid was stuck closed. I had a poor connection on the battery and caused a low voltage, high current condition to the starter solonoid, welding the contacts together. I was lucky, I cleaned the battery posts and "whacked" the starter with a small hammer to jar the contacts loose. It's been working since. If that doesn't work for you, disconnect the small wire going to the starter and try again. If it still cranks when you reconnect the battery, remove the starter and dissassemble the solonoid. You will find the contacts to be a copper washer and two copper bolts. Most starter repair shops will have the necessary parts to replace the items, if not, you can turn the washer over to the unused side and on some you can remove the bolts and rotate them 180 degrees to a portion that isn't worn.
