Standing in front of the vehicle and looking at the engine, the ATF dispstick is located WAY DOWN on the left side of the engine almost hidden from view by wiring and hoses. Look carefully - it's down there (unless it's been removed and never replaced).
Did you use genuine Honda ATF DW-1 transmission fluid. If not then that is the problem. Drain the fluid and use the correct fluid.

Use only genuine Honda ATF DW1 and nothing else. Use some other fluid and your transmission may not shift properly.

For AUTOMATIC transmission the manual recommends genuine Honda ATF (naturally), but the 'Haynes Repair Manual' states that Dexron III, is a satisfactory alternative.
You add fluid the same place you check the fluid level. You will need a special transmission funnel. Be sure and use only genuine Honda ATF DW-1 fluid and no other fluid that claims to be compatible.
No!!!!! Use nothing but genuine Honda ATF-Z1 A/T fluid.
Honda has a special (read "really expensive") ATF they sell at dealerships, but Dexron III works.
