more than likely the tensioner
It sounds like your timing belt hydraulic tensioner arm is bad, they are very expensive.
If the ticking is coming from under the dash. It's probably your fan housing, or a misaligned fan. You will have to get to the fan and either replace the fan, or move any obstacles that may be hitting the fan.
I have a 1989 Probe and also had a tick, I found that the exhaust manifold bolts were loose. I removed the heat shield and tighten the bolts. NO MORE TICK
The electronic ignitor keeps ticking when it is off because it is cooling off. The air hits the probe when the probe is hot, and it is trying to condense, or cool off, which causes the ticking.
Failing bearings and spring loadings of the tensioner assembly can cause noise and belt tracking. However, timing and other mechanical issues can also cause ticking and clicking noises. The tensioner and idler pullies in addition to the belts are not considered a costly repair for this application. It is advisable to have the condition verified by a professional before replacing perfectly functional parts. However, belts are routing wear items and should be replaced at appropriate intervals.
Take it to a mechanic.
its your lifter ticking really nutting you can do about it dose it on all probes one of there down falls just check the oil level
the clicking noise could be you lifters are starting to go bad or your valves might be bent a lil. eather you should just take it to the shop and have them look at it soon or you could blow your motor.
The whistling noise could be a belt but I don't know about the gear jumping. Something wrong with the transmission most likely. Teeth missing.
SOUNDS LIKE YOU MAY HAVE A SHORT IN YOUR PLUG WIRES
if the noise comes from the front end while you rev the engine, and not alot of sound comes from the tailpipe, check the exhaust from the front back for cracks or breaks. it sounds like an exhaust leak to me.
