check timing belt, should be under plasic cover on passenger side, i had a small sensor tensioner pulley or something like that next to my crankshaft pulley lock up and the friction burned my belt til it broke, luckily i had no internal damage, hope you were as well, definitely wouldn't try turning it over til you checked, could cause serious engine damage
Sloppy timing chain?
Piston slap and timing chain related noises can be very similar. If it is a piston slap noise the noise may be louder during power braking and may quiet down as the engine warms up.
Noise coming from the area of the chain and in severe cases it will jump a tooth and the engine will run very badly with no power.
CLEAN power is power that is free from noise.
The reason your 2001 Hyundai Sonata lost all power while you were driving and stalled and won't start again is either the battery or the alternator. If you have no power you most likely have an alternator problem.
Believe it or not there are different colors of noise. The colors correspond with the noise power density. For example, blue noise's power density increases 3 dB per octave.
It can be calculated by simplifying the ratio between power of signal by power of noise
combustion noise sensor signal use To reduce the emission and improve the performance by changing the ignition timing. When the engine is accelerated the timing can change, you get a pinging noise. It senses that and adjusts the timing to compensate. They didn't have this in older engines without electronic ignitions and you had adjust the distributer to find a happy medium setting. It really imporves performance and power. Its not the same as an exhaust sensor that reads the unburnt fuel level and adjusts the fuel to lean out the mix. The exhaust sensor is more for the emission controls.
your car stalled?
* They both wanted power. * They both wanted power. * They both wanted power.
if the noise is a high pitched squealing noise, the belt is slipping....if the noise is a whine or growling noise, the pump is low on fluid or the pump is bad
There are no timing marks. The timing is controlled by the PCM. Power control module. It is not possible to set the timing with a timing gun.
