Check your fuses .... BUT most likely the problem is the wires that go through the DRIVERS door jamb (inside the black accordian looking thing) ... from opening and closing the door over the years, the wires break. I have a 2000 Cherokee and first the drivers door speaker went out (I ran a new wire to fix that) and then months later my power windows and the dash board lights stopped working .... I have not fixed mine yet so don't know if it is one wire or several. I read another post that says it is the ground wire but doesn't tell what color that is ... ?? .... I think it is more than one wire though since people don't all have the same EXACT problem (your windows and radio ... mine wndows and dash lights) .... Probably have to test each wire with a meter and then splice and run new wires through the door jamb to fix the broken ones.
fuel gauge not working and power windows and radio.2004 mercury mountaineer.
sounds like you have overloaded and blown a fuse or relay check fuses . disconnect power source for radio recheck fuses.if dash lights come on, find a different point for power supply for radio. actually you should connect radio to accesories .lights dont take as much power as radio
That sounds like a bad fuse...
Blown fuse, broken wire, failed switch,
Your windows and radio both quit working at the same time because you blew a fuse.
check fuse. they are all conected.
Recheck fuse #9. This one has a tendency to go out more frequently than others and is associated with all of the mechanisms you noted.
Check all the fuses.. My power locks, radio, dome lights werent working. I looked at the "Radio-CLock" fuse it was good. I checked the others and and "Aux" fuse or seomthing was bad.
check the fuses
You probably melted a fusable link . Check by the battery or on the firewall . It will be a wire with a melted spot by where it bolts to the power supply
Have you checked the relays?
Turn on the radio and start pulling fuses. When the radio stops working, that is the fuse. Try the cigarette lighter fuse first.
