AC system needs to be recharged. Get a can of R-134a and a hose. (EZ-Chill sells a kit for $19.99 at Walmart).
The low-side port is on the left side (if you are standing in front of the vehicle looking into the hood). it is covered with a black cap.
Follow instructions on the recharge kit.
The only "sensors" on the transmission are the speed sensor at the top in back, and the range switch on the front.
only 3, 2front,1rear is just a striaght axle bieng pulled by front wheel drive.
Your Villager has only one O2 sensor located on the front catalytic pipe before the converter. You should be able to look down between the engine and radiator and see it.
A Villager, like most cars, has only one fuel filter.
only 4.5 Liter
The only place available is the coolant reservoir.
The brakes on the Villager are as straight forward as the brakes on a 1965 Mercury. Only normal brake tools are required.
Since The Villager is of unibody construction, there are only a couple things that can be considered "subframe bushings". Sway bar bushings (front and rear), rear leaf spring bushings, and the most likely, control arm bushings.
There is only the speed sensor and the range switch.
None, until the Monterey, which was only sold 2004-2007.
go here if you want reviews from villager owners about the car 1997 Mercury Villager GS Comments - Carsurvey.org . I'm getting one from my friend its about 10 years old and still runing with only minor fixes (under 600 bucks).
I wasn't aware that there was a middle oxygen sensor. I have a 1997 Villager that was vandalized and the catalytic converter and O2 sensors were stolen. From what my mechanic tells me and Auto Zone there are only 2 sensors, one in front of the catalytic converter and one behind it.
