In genetics, the word hybrid can mean several things. In general, hybrid refers to the combination of two different things (eg. genes) to create something new.
The two most common meanings of hybrid are:
- an organism with two different alleles (versions of a gene) for a specific trait (eg. Bb, Tt). This means the organism is heterozygous for that gene.
- the offspring of two genetically distinct organisms (this would also be called a heterozygote).
A species is a specific type of animal. A hybrid is a combination of two different subspecies within a species, between different species within the same genus, (see Related links on Hybrid for more detail.)
In Biology, a hybrid is the offspring resulting from combining the qualities of two organisms of different breeds, varieties, species or genera through sexual reproduction.

The hybrid between these two species is sometimes called the false oxslip because it resembles that species. Another valid name for this cross is the polyanthus. The polyanthuses you will find in people's gardens all derive from this cross - they retain the large flowers of the primrose with the many-flowered heads of the cowslip
A cross between two hybrid Tt pea plants would be expected to produce 1/4 TT, 1/2 Tt, and 1/4 tt offspring.

Crossing two genetically similar organisms produces a hybrid.
You cross-pollinate two different varieties and the resulting offspring are hybrids. Of the same species.
You can create a hybrid between two species through their cross pollination, but that is not new species.
A purebred organism is the offspring of two homozygous parents. A hybrid on the other hand, comes from two heterozygous parents, which is a cross between two species.
A hybrid is a cross between two variations.

The hybrid is the offspring so the probability is 1.

true
In genetics, a hybrid is crossing two species. It involves more that two genes. A mule is the hybrid of donkey and a mare (horse). If you cross a stallion with a jenny (female donkey) you will get a henny. A henny has no value.
It means that a hybrid species will not be able to conceive a child as it is infertile. In other words, if a hybrid is produced between two species of animals, it will not be able to reproduce.
The hybrid between these two species is sometimes called the false oxslip because it resembles that species. Another valid name for this cross is the polyanthus. The polyanthuses you will find in people's gardens all derive from this cross - they retain the large flowers of the primrose with the many-flowered heads of the cowslip
A purebred organism is the offspring of two homozygous parents, having either two dominant alleles, AA or two recessive alleles, aa. A hybrid is the offspring of two heterozygous parents, Aa.
A Tigon is a hybrid cross between a male Tiger and a Lioness. A cross between a male Lion and a Tigress is called a Liger. Such hybrids only appear among cats kept in captivity, as the two species do not mix in the wild.
