First of all, the person themselves may feel that they need more help than they can get from the people around them, like family and friends. SOmetimes the people closest to us are the least able to see the real problems or solutions to them, that is why sometimes people need to as a professional. Other time, people need intervention, that is when the family and friends around them can see that they are unable to help themselves and for their own safety hire a team of professionals to intervene.

Are you talking about the turn signal? If so then, the turn signal has a small device inside the steering wheel which turns the signal off after you make a turn. It is broken. The steering wheel must be removed to repair this. I advice against attempting this yourself due to the danger of the air bag deploying prematurely. Take it to a professional.
Burnt out bulb.
I just had this problem with my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. The problem is a short in the "multi-function switch." When I took it to get fixed, they told me that a lot of Pontiac Grand Ams have had this problem, and mine was fixed through warranty. If that is not the problem with your car, check the "signal flasher relay." Hope I helped!
Most common problem --turn signal flasher needs replacement Could also be a problem in steering column
