Alpha particles have two protons and two neutrons. since the atom just lost two protons, it's atomic number decreased two. It also decreased it's mass number by four because it lost two protons and two neutrons.

No, it's the alpha particles which carry away 2 protons. Beta particles are electrons. They can be produced by a number of different routes, but if the beta particle results from the decay of a neutron, then the atomic number increases, since the neutron becomes a proton.

That is called Alpha radiation. The atom ejects what is called an alpha particle which is basically an ionized Helium atom (it doesn't have any electrons). Along with the two protons that the atom emits to change its Atomic Number it also ejects two neutrons which results in its Mass Number decreasing by four.
