angel
The literary concept you are referring to is called the "angel and devil on the shoulder" or more commonly known as a moral dilemma. It symbolizes the internal conflict between doing what is right (angel) and what is wrong (devil).
Traditionally the devil would be on the left shoulder, due to the belief that the left hand saide was the evil or sinister side. But really, you can get them on whichever side you want.
Right and left shoulder. God and the devil.
Islamic tradition holds that there are two spirits, Kiraman and Katibin, residing to either side (or on either shoulder) of humans which record their good and bad deeds. "Behold, two spirits appointed to learn his actions and record them, one sitting on the right and one on the left. Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready to note it." 50:17 - Quran These beings do not have influence over the choices one makes and only record one's deeds. Whichever account is weightier in the end determines whether one goes to Jannah (heaven) or the Jahannam (hell). There is another similar tradition to that of the shoulder angel/devil spirits, the Qareen: the Qareen, according to Islamic literature, is a personal companion and there are two with each individual, one from the angels and another from the Jinn. The word qarīn literally means 'constant companion'. The angel pushes the individual to do good and obey God while that from the Jinn does the opposite. It may be that both concepts were fused over time to create the "common" figures of the angel and devil prodding a person to good or bad actions appearing even in cartoons.
yes i believe so because he has a angel wings on his right back shoulder and has a scripture on his right arm top of shoulder... but that's just what i think I'm not sure if its true hope this helped and plze tell me if I'm wrong!
Actually everyone does this in one form or another. There are even cartoons about it with an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. The thing is, usually the real you knows the right answer so I usually figure that if I am arging with myself, I'm about to screw up. I stop arguig and go with what I feel is right. So, No it is not weird. We all do it whether we admit to it or not.
Traditionally, if one is superstitious and spills salt, they should throw a pinch of salt over their left shoulder to ward off bad luck or evil spirits. This superstition comes from the belief that the devil tends to linger over one's left shoulder.
H. Trusta has written: 'The angel over the right shoulder, or, The beginning of a new year' 'Kitty Brown beginning to think'
The superstition about spilled salt comes from the belief the devil stands behind your left shoulder, whispering "bad" ideas & suggestions to you. If salt has been spilled it is believed to be unlucky, unless you throw a pinch of it over your LEFT shoulder, supposedly into the devil's eyes, thus distracting him from leading you into trouble.
Forehead to left breast. Left breast to right shoulder. Right shoulder to left shoulder. Left shoulder to right breast. Right breast to forehead. This is for a blessing, for a banishing to it in reverse.
According to fairy-tales.
it was his right shoulder
