The Bible does not reveal all of the things that happened, therfore nobody can tell you how long, especially since you don't know when God decided to create Earth.
== How long did God take to create man?
== No longer than part of one 24-hour day. We are told in Genesis 2 that the activity on day 6 of the Creation week consisted of God creating the land animals, a man and a woman. Adam also named the various animal kinds. As on the other creation days, the Bible then limits the time frame for all those activities by stating the words 'evening and morning were the sixth day.' The Hebrew word 'yom' - as used in the original for 'day' - is always a regular 24-hour day when used with those words connected.
Genesis 2:4 NKJV
"This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens..." This chapter then repeats the history up to that point. Genesis 2:4-25
The Bible simply does not tell us about the original event. The Genesis 1 & 2 account tells us of God 'renewing' the face of the Earth which begins here in Genesis 1:2 New International Version (NIV) 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Note here that the 'orb' of the Earth is already in place.
It took God 7 days to renew the face of the Earth and give mankind the time measure called 'a week' and blessed the 7th day (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset as in the Creation account a day began in darkness or night time) and made it Holy for all mankind to keep the Sabbath day remembering His great creative works:
Psalm 104:30New King James Version (NKJV)30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created;
And You renew the face of the earth.
Seven days, including the seventh which was a day of cessation ("rest").
The Bible says God made heaven and earth in six days, and he rested on the 7th.
According to a literal interpretation of the bible He took six days and rested on the seventh.
ANSWER 2:
According to Baha'i scripture, religion and science must agree as both are from God. For this reason, the six Biblical (and Qur'anic) days are viewed as allegory for the scientific eons of earth's evolution. Had each age of development been written in a literal manner, the Book of Genesis alone would have required more pages than the Bible itself.
The seven days in God's time is but figurative to represent seven thousand year in our time. No one is actually certain as to how long it took to form the earth. That it took a long time is most likely the nearest one will get to an answer. There will be many speculations as to the answer to your your question, each one will only be a guestimate. Carbon dating is not the answer as this only gives you the age of what is being tested.

The Bible contains two separate and slightly conflicting accounts about the creation of man.

Archbishop Ussher calculated the creation of Adam to 4004 BC or '0' anno mundus or AM. With that starting point to the current year of 2015 (subtracting 1 year as there is no year between 1 BC to 1AD), we get 6,018 years.
If one is to take the Bible literally, about 6000-10.000 years. For knowledgeable folk, then the earliest hominid is about four million years old.
Seven days, including the seventh which was a day of cessation ("rest").
