Save Time The FDM can reduce the power restoration time by up to 75%, on average. The FDM is anticipated to be 4 times faster than the old divide and concur method, and twice as fast as FCIs. This can certainly lead to happier customers. Save Money The FDM can significantly reduce costs from three primary sources; material cost, installation cost and usage cost. The FDM costs up to 40% less than an equivalent FCI installation. The FDM takes about the same amount of time to install as FCIs, however, a typical loop circuit requires only one FDM installation or 12 or more FCI installations. The FDM can therefore be 12 times faster to install than an equivalent FCI installation. The usage cost savings results from having a remote readout that is read from a single location, rather than tracking down a series of Transformers. Improve Reliability The contribution to CAIDI caused by faults in underground cable systems can be improved up to 75%. Significant improvement in restoration time can lead to happier customers as well as regulators. An active reliability program is often a factor the PUC evaluates during rate review.

What advantages does TDM have over FDM in a circuit switched network?

TDM and FDM are multiple access techniques used for multiplexing number of signals into a single single for bandwidth saving. FDM is older technique of multiplexing whereas TDM is relatively a newer technique of multiplexing. TDM advantage over FDM is that it offers bandwidth saving and there is low interference between the signals that are being multiplexed.

On dual tanks the front tank is filling up the rear tank through the return line how do you fix it?

I have been having the same problem. Here's what I've discovered. Inside each tank there is a fuel pump (FDM): fuel delivery module. Each FDM has a supply and return. When the FDM is energized any excess fuel the engine does not need is returned through the return line. In the return side of the FDM there is a valve called the "Shuttle Selector Valve". When the FDM is energized this valve opens to allow fuel to return to the tank. Here's what the Haynes Manual has to say "There is no specific test for the shuttle selector valve portion of the FDM. If tank overfilling or cross filling is experienced, the overfilled tank's FDM probably has a stuck open shuttle valve. If excessively high fuel pressure is experienced, suspect a stuck closed shuttle valve in the selected FDM exhibiting the symptom."
