Ergonomics refers to the practice of altering a job to fit the needs of a worker. This can be a benefit, because it gets work done at a higher quality, but can also generate results that aren't what a company was originally expecting.

Greater Productivity.

Providing your employees with the means to reduce the amount of physical and mental stress their bodies and minds experience. Employers tend to find that creating an ergonomic environment leads to employee production in ways that far exceed their dreams. People who don't feel the need to move around every hour due to discomfort, can sit in the same position for a longer period of time and do a whole lot more work. A simple ergonomic chair can go a long way in getting rid of the number of ailments that office employees tend to suffer from. This reduction in ailments helps these employees concentrate better on whatever it is that they have to do. Proper lighting and other helpful incentives such as glare guards also reduce the level of eyestrain these people suffer from as well as fatigue, all which in turn helps to improve their level of productivity.

Reduced Levels of Sickness.

People who constantly feel good at their jobs tend to come to work more often. Having less stress and body fatigue also goes a long way in improving the immune system and making your employees feel a whole lot healthier. This keeps your workers working longer rather than having them call in sick most of the time.

Fewer Complaints.

With a lesser amount of aches and pains on a daily basis, employees complain a whole lot less and this in turn does wonders for their physical beings as well as their mental train of thought. With the peace they experience, they perform better and work with their other co-workers on an improved level. A negative atmosphere in the office environment can easily prove to be disastrous and keeping everybody happy is a great step in making your office a positive place where everyone can contribute positively.

How do you prevent ergonomic?

Ergonomics is the relantionship between a person and their workplace. Kinda like 'workstation feng shui'. It makes sure a worker is safe at work. For example, if someones chair is not at the right position and causes back pain a worker may not be able to do a good job. This is considered poor ergonomics. So in answer to your question, ergonomics should not be prevented, at least not good ergonomics, because it helps workers be safe and do the best job they can. I hope this answers your question.Dora-18
