Possibly the regulator in the alt. is not working and has over charged the battery causing it to over heat, a volt meter test will check this. Try another battery and if the engine does not want to turn fast when hot, then possibly the starter is grounding, which will need to be replaced. All this of course if there is no other problem with the engine, like low oil or coolant over heating. The battery should not be over 14.5 volts with engine running.
Check the volts right from the battery, might be a faulty alt.
I would suspect either a loose connection or a corroded battery terminal.
Why not. Same engine, same car, and frame. Just compare the two to make sure.
