nail polish remover works or just hot water & a grease fighting dishsoap (like dawn) seems to work too. The best way I've found is to soak in vegetable oil first, then use hot water and dawn.
I think u should try Goo Gone. u can find it in most stores. It works really well and it can get gum off of anything. Be careful with it though because the fumes are terrible.
