sounds like a ele. problem
make sure the park/neutral switch is connected and adjusted properly
Only thing that can cause problems is making sure the torque converter is all the way in. It should engage on the shaft 3 times, sometimes the last one is a little difficult. The converter should almost be rubbing the bell housing. Some require the flywheel to be in one place. The flywheel to torque converter bolts will only line up in one position. Not all, some it doesn't make a difference. Everything else is just nuts and bolts.
The flex plate is the flywheel. It is between the crankshaft and torque converter. The crankshaft position sensor is located behind the passenger side cylinder head, through the top of the transmission case.
remove the engine and transmission from the car, then remove engine flywheel and it will be right there
its the crankshaft position sensor
For the manual transmission is located on the upper left (driver) side of the transmission where the transmission bolts to the engine. It reads the flywheel. The mounting screw also holds down a metal cover for the sensor. I was able to reach it from under the car when the transmission was lowered.
the doors are being placed in locked position If it's coming from the engine or transmission area, I would suspect a cracked flywheel or flexplate.
AnswerThe position will vary according to the year, make and model. However, crank sensors are usually located in the transmission bell housing, just above the flywheel.
ON the SOHC models the Crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the oil pan, The DOHC is located behind the engine, the transmission and the flywheel must be removed to the sensor on the DOHC models
about ten or eleven liters -Never put a dry converter into a transmission, fill it 1/2 full of fluid, about 3 to 4 litres or quarts, then once the transmission is in, put 4 liters in, run the engine and this will fill the converter fully. With engine running, fill to the "warm" position on the dipstick, take the car for a 10 minute drive and top up the level (with engine running) to the "hot" mark.
try rotating the flywheel as the holes will only line up in a certain position on some vehicles. I hope this solves your problem
If the torque converter is slipping your engine will start to stall and cut out eventually you will be driving and the car will rev in the drive position as if it is in neutral go to a transmission shop and get the tech to test drive your car.
