check for leaks if none try a tune up plugs wires air filter ect
Any fuel spill, storage or leak can cause fuel odor inside the car.
one possibility is that the fuel pressure regulator is leaking therefore fuel draws through the vacuum line in your intake manifold and causes a rich fuel mixture, that would cause a noticable fuel odor and hard starting.
Rotted fuel lines.
no it shouldnt
No, it is not normal for a bio ethanol fireplace to produce an odor if placed in a bedroom. Bio ethanol fuel is known for being odorless when burned, so if you are experiencing an odor, there may be an issue with the specific fireplace or the fuel being used. It is best to contact the manufacturer or a professional to investigate and address the issue.

Sounds like you got a leak somewhere - get your car up on a lift and check as much as the fuel line as you can see.
I would suspect the fuel pressure regulator.
Internal engine antifreeze leak.
How is it running? Is the mileage ok? Have you checked the computer diagnostic codes? It's possible that the ignition isn't doing well and you're getting unburned hydrocarbons out the exhaust. It's possible that the oxygen sensor is bad and that the engine is getting too much fuel in an effort to compensate. It's possible that there is a problem with the EGR valve or even the catalytic converter.
It means you may have fuel leaking, which is not a good thing.
